Coach Kaiao Nahale-a
Club Director & The Guru of Good Attitude
Coach Kaiao Nahale-a started Live Aloha Volleyball Academy to empower the lives of the people around him. He first began coaching his senior year of high school and has since amased 11 years of coaching experience.
Coach Kaiao is now the First Assistant at Concordia University and started in the spring of 2017. Concordia competes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference which is a Division two NCAA conference. Coach Kaiao also spent the Fall of 2016 learning and working as an Assistant Coach at St. Martin’s University.
While accomplishing his undergraduate degree, Coach Kaiao took over the Beaverton High School (BHS) program in the fall of 2013. BHS had won one (yes, you’re reading that correctly) game in 7 years. In 2013 the team went 4-13. Then in the Fall of 2014 the team went 7-11. In Coach Kaiao’s final season at BHS the team went 14-10 and made it to state. He left BHS being named Co-Coach of the year in the Metro League, which at that time was the most competitive league in 6A in the OSAA.

Coach Charlie Rosa
Assistant Club Director & The most interesting man in the world
Charlie Rosa has been coaching for over 15 years. He has coached for CYO, 3rd through 8th grade. He coached club for Rose City Volleyball club for 12’s, 14’s and 16’s and went to nationals with the 14’s team that placed 5th in the nation. For the past 11 years Charlie has been coaching JV at Central Catholic High School and assisting with varsity. In his nine years at Central Catholic they have won 4 6A state titles, 4 second places, and 1 fifth place.
Charlie loves the game and is fortunate to be surrounded by family that have played and are playing. His Father-in-law Tom Becic was the founder and first commissioner of CEVA. His wife Anne-Marie won 2 state titles at St Mary’s Academy High School and played at Carrol College in Montana as a setter. His oldest daughter Kealia Rosa won a state title at Central Catholic high school and is currently playing at Warner Pacific College, where she has the school record for assists. His youngest daughter is now a Junior at Central Catholic High School and is their starting Setter. As a freshman she was nominated 1st Team all conference. This year they placed 2nd in the 6A state tournament.
Heading into year three, Charlie is very excited to continue an amazing adventure with Live Aloha Volleyball Academy and can’t wait to continue helping these young ladies become better players and better people with this great ‘Ohana Volleyball club.
